Original artwork description
In this painting full of light and bluebells, I've channelled the refreshing essence of spring aiming to capture the dance between shadow and sun as they play through new leaves, crafting a path that invites the viewer into a world vibrant with growth and possibility. Like taking a walk through a vibrant Spring woodland the carpet of blue and fresh leaves are a breath of fresh air, a reminder of rejuvenation. The brief spell of bluebells carpeting the forest floor and the canopy of Spring leaves fill a space with optimism and the endless potential of a new dawn.
An original artwork, one of a kind, this painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas. I begin with observation of the place making notes and taking photographs to work from in the studio. From these beginnings I work intuitively, painting some base layers with a brush and then impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife. Harnessing optical mixing techniques employed by the impressionists. I continue working until the painting reaches a natural conclusion. The painting is on deep edge canvas, which continues round the sides, a frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
