Buttermere and Fleetwith Pike (2026) Original Oil Painting by Chris Marshall

40.6 x 30.5 x 0.3cm (unframed)

£395

Buttermere, in the English Lake District, is possibly my favourite place of all. I first heard of it from my parents, who spent their honeymoon here, and I have visited myself countless times since. This view up the lake to Fleetwith Pike (a wonderful climb for those who love mountains) is from close to Buttermere village. In the process of painting it, I particularly enjoyed trying to capture the lively water and the rocks in the stream in the foreground, whilst still trying to show the tranquility of the lake beyond. It is painted in oils on a canvas board
