▶ABOUT ME
Mariia Raskin (b. 1979, Kazakhstan) is an abstract-impressionist painter based in Turkey and Northern Cyprus. Mariia holds a degree in Applied Arts with distinction. Her works are part of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection, and she has presented solo exhibitions in Cyprus, including one inaugurated by the Prime Minister. A member of the International Association of Art (IAA) and the Eurasian Art Union (EAU), she is a two-time recipient of the Certificate of Artistic Achievement from the Luxembourg Art Prize and winner of the Boynes Monthly Art Award. Her paintings have been shown internationally and featured on major art platforms such as Altiba9, Artsyshark, and Spotlight Contemporary Art Magazine. On Artfinder, Mariia exclusively presents her works on paper.

▶STATEMENT I have always been fascinated by the intricate patterns on butterfly wings. I began to imagine: if I could create a living creature, what kind of wings would it have? My fantasy butterflies reflect different emotions, each one expressed through its unique color combinations.
