I created this piece by painting an abstract watercolour in varying shades of blue, with some teal shades. Within each butterfly you can see a variation in shade and brush marks. The butterflies are painted on the reverse in a soft pink watercolour, which has had a wonderful impact of creating a delicate warm shadow behind each butterfly. This is visible in the close up photos, but shows particularly well in natural light. By combining varying shades of blue this piece has beautiful depth and movement. The visibility of paintbrush marks add to the uniqueness of this artwork. You can be captivated by one single butterfly and their relationship to one another.

The butterflies are in 7 perfectly circular rows creating a calming geometric impact.
