Original artwork description:

From a commercial point of view, all my home-grown vegetables (if you sum up all the costs: petrol, organic fertilisers, watering, purchased and delivered soil, beds, seeds) will be worth their weight in gold. It is much, much cheaper and easier to buy food at the supermarket or market. That's true. Was it worth doing all this? That's something one decides for oneself.
I found it interesting and enjoyable to grow something on my own, starting with simply planting a tiny seed in the soil and watching something grow out of nothing. As it turned out, only weeds grow without any effort on our part. To grow something alive and useful, you need to apply knowledge, skill and labour. Without this, it will not work.
This is the fifth work in the series, depicting the only buttercup squash that grew this summer.
Whatever one says, home-grown vegetables are much more flavourful than store-bought ones.

Materials used:

acrylic
