Entitled ‘Bugia’ (Lie), this work explores the delicate boundary between innocence and wisdom.
The candid, playful face of an old-fashioned puppet is confronted with the adult world of wine, symbolised by two bottles and a bunch of grapes.
In this oil on canvas (50×70 cm), fairy tale meets reality, leaving the viewer with a question: is the lie the innocence that fades away, or the truth that hides in a simple sip?
I created this work on canvas, treating the background and colouring it with several layers of paint to achieve a unique atmosphere. I traced the outline of the painting with chalk and only then did I begin to paint with oil colours.
I use oil colours, applying many thin layers of appropriately diluted paint to create the effects I desire.
Once completely dry, I finished the surface with a final coat of varnish to make it UV resistant.
The work has a simple frame and is ready to hang.
The work is signed on the front and back and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
