It is also light rain drizzling under dimming green lights, warm lights from shop windows make such a cozy evening, a lady is checking her phone around 7 pm, it must be an ordinary night, but artist makes a big deal out of this and creates an extraordinary night.
* Now I must compare this painting to Edward Hopper's "Night Hawks", because we both paint scenes of Manhattan evening, but the painting seems strikingly different not by the technique but because of the different impression we get. There is not enough light and shadow in this painting to observe the depth of the night street, if you compare, but this painting has a different purpose in which the artist explores night fantasy and happiness, and is slightly more optimistic than Hopper's painting.

* My observation is nothing to do with quality of painting, I am just looking at two different characters.
