'Brighton Pier Lights' is an original linocut, using the reduction method, by fine art printmaker Kirstie Dedman.

Inspired by a visit to Brighton and the multicoloured lights of the pier beginning to glow as the lights fade. As the night falls, the town takes on a different atmosphere; nights out beckon. This is version one (vi) with a blended roll depicting the peach and yellow sunset.

This print is completely hand-made. The image is drawn onto a block of lino in reverse. Then parts are cut away and inked and printed to reveal the final image. My Instagram is a good place to see the process in detail.

The print is created using light-safe artist-quality water-based inks, which have a wonderful matt finish. This works well with the textured Fabriano paper.

The image size is 20.3cm by 15.2 cm and the paper size is 26.5cm by 21.5cm

Materials used:

lino, cutting tools, roller, inks, printing press, paper
