I was invited to paint with friends at Hythe on the Kent coast.
It is a pretty place where the downs meet the sea, and where the Royal Military Canal starts on its journey to Rye in Sussex, protecting the vulnerable Romney Marsh from enemy invaders.
I found this spot alongside the canal beneath the ornamental trees on a pleasant afternoon.
It measures 10” x 12” (ref: 1776) unframed, it is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
