Original artwork description
Abstracted impressionist landscape painting. This painting was inspired by the huge skies and distant horizons of Exmoor National Park. I was listening to the song 'Feeling Good' by Nina Simone as I was planning this piece, and was particularly captured by the lyric 'Breeze drifting on by, you know how I feel'. The aim of the painting is to give a sense of space and freedom within a beautiful landscape, with a gentle breeze blowing on your cheeks.
Painted in oil, largely with a palette knife, this piece is full of glorious colours and textures.
