### ARTIST’S NOTE

In *Breath of Time*, Antonino Puliafico translates the quiet rhythm of a woodland clearing into a vivid cascade of colour. Thick palette-knife strokes create a vertical tapestry of slender stems and fluttering petals, their pastel pinks, lilacs, and sky blues set against deep emeralds and charcoal trunks.

Light leaks through the imagined canopy in slender flashes of lemon and ivory, giving the work a pulsing, almost musical quality—as though each mark were a note suspended in air. Puliafico’s impasto surfaces invite close inspection, revealing ridges of pure pigment that catch and scatter light, while the overall composition radiates an uplifting, meditative calm.

Whether read as flowering undergrowth or pure abstract movement, *Breath of Time* captures that fleeting pause in nature when everything seems to inhale at once—a perfect moment held on canvas.

Materials used:

First-rate oil colors of the Florentine brand "DI VOLO" applied with spatula were used for the painting, and the pictorial support is a cottono canvas pre-painted for oil painting with Gesso and Glue.
