Bramble detail in the Ashdown Forest (2026) Original Oil Painting by Chris Marshall

20 x 20 x 3.8cm (unframed)

£200

I walk my local area a lot, always on the lookout for attractive landscape compositions, but sometimes, I'm drawn to the small details of the natural world. This painting is an example of this. The walker in England is often driven a bit crazy by brambles tugging at their legs, so it was nice to zoom in and look really carefully at a single bramble stem. Not the classic flower or plant painting! This is a small work - 200mm square - painted on a deep (38mm) stretch canvas, so it doesn't need a frame.
