I wanted to record the decorative patterns of the Mediterranean tiles with bold botanical structures. The dramatic shadows convey the ethereal sunlight which bounces off the tiles.
An original hand-pulled screen print. One colour is printed at a time by hand using a squeegee which pushes ink through the screen onto the paper. For each new colour the artist makes a separate drawing/stencil and different coloured layers are built up to create a design.
