The bobolink breeds in the summer in Northern America, and spends the winter in southern South America, primarily Paraguay, Argentina, and Bolivia. (Can you spot the American continent in the background?).
Bobolink populations are rapidly declining due to numerous factors, such as agricultural intensification and habitat loss, largely due to hayfield mowing during the weeks that Bobolinks are actively nesting.
