ABOUT THE ART WORK
The painting depicts a sunny day in Vernazza, one of the most picturesque towns on the Italian Riviera. The narrow bay is surrounded by cliffs and ancient houses cascading up the slope. Their facades are painted in warm Mediterranean tones—ochre, terracotta, pink, lemon yellow, and azure. At the foot of the houses, at the very edge of the turquoise sea, small wooden boats with brightly colored hulls—red, blue, and white—sway. The water sparkles in the sun, reflecting the multicolored walls and sapphire sky. In the foreground, one can discern an old pier or a stone embankment where passersby stroll leisurely, and in the distance, the tower of an ancient fortress—the symbol of the town—is visible. The atmosphere of the painting is filled with light, warmth, and the feeling of a serene summer day on the Italian coast.
