Blue Winter is inspired by the Malvern Hills during the quietest months of the year, when the landscape softens under snow and the colours settle into pale blues, greys and muted greens.
I’m drawn to winter for its stillness. The bare trees, the gentle curves of the hills, and the sense of everything slowing down. This print captures that calm, familiar feeling of walking through the countryside on a cold, clear day, when the world feels hushed and spacious.
Each print is hand-printed using the reduction linocut technique and is signed and numbered on the front as part of a limited edition. As with all handmade prints, subtle variations in colour and texture are part of what makes each one unique.
I use lino block and oil based relief ink to create my lino prints, using an etching press.
