Blue Mountains is an original impasto oil painting capturing a dramatic late autumn twilight over the Caucasus mountains, viewed from my summer house balcony in Tetritskaro village an hour drive from the capital city of Georgia - Tbilisi. Blue-hued peaks rise against a turbulent purple-gray sky, with golden fields, bare trees, a winding sunlit path, and distant valleys bathed in crisp, clear light stretching toward Armenia. Painted in 2023 during late autumn twilight from my Tetritskaro summer house balcony, where the Caucasus mountains dominate the horizon all the way to Armenia. The air was crisp and extraordinarily clear, turning the distant peaks a vivid blue—I couldn't resist. I grabbed my easel, set it up right there, and painted this scene en plein air, compelled by nature's raw, fleeting majesty.
