Artist's reflection:
In Blue Eyes, I wanted to capture a sense of quiet strength and cosmic connection. Using ink and acrylics on canvas board, I layered fine, flowing lines to mimic strands of hair swept by an invisible wind, suggesting movement and ethereal grace. The color palette — soft browns, cool whites, and deep blues — creates contrast and harmony, bringing focus to the striking blue eyes that anchor the viewer's gaze.
The cross-hatching and delicate stippling build depth and texture, making the skin feel alive under light, almost as if stardust clings to it. The background shifts from darkness to pale streaks, hinting at a boundless space beyond the figure, blurring the boundary between the earthly and the celestial.
This work is as much about inner resilience as it is about beauty: the gaze is direct yet thoughtful, inviting the viewer to pause and sense the quiet stories hidden behind those eyes. Through the interplay of controlled ink lines and fluid acrylic washes, I hoped to evoke both structure and freedom — a dance between precision and the unpredictable flow of inspiration.
