One autumn morning I went for a walk to the pond near my house and saw that it had turned into a magical blue "bowl". The mist that rose from the surface of the water turned a soft blue color, and the sky reflected in the water created a wonderful blue frame for the dark horizon line. I felt so comfortable in this blue that I wanted to recreate its magic on canvas.
“Blue Bowl” is a meditative landscape where the sky, the water, and the horizon line merge into a single serene form. A dark strip of forest or distant hills grounds the composition, while its smooth reflection on the water creates a sense of depth and stillness. Cool blue tones dominate the piece, shaping the effect of a “bowl” — an enclosed space where light and shadow gently flow into one another. This work conveys a state of inner calm and contemplation, inviting the viewer to pause, reflect, and feel the quiet space between sky and water.
