Original artwork description
There is an ancient Greek myth about the peony
... Asclepius, a healer who heals the gods, lived on Olympus, and he had a disciple Peon.
In one version of the legend, the wounded Hades, the god of the underworld, somehow ascended to Olympus. Asclepius was not there, and Peon healed the wound, after which he earned the glory and love of Hades. Asclepius hated the disciple and killed him. To honor the memory of the young man, Zeus turned his body into a beautiful flower.
According to another version, Peon surpassed the teacher when he helped pregnant women and also won recognition in medicine. Asclepius set out to kill his rival, but Zeus saved Peon by turning him into a beautiful flower.
The endings are slightly different, but the essence is the same: the flower appeared in memory of the healer who healed both Gods and mere mortals.
Therefore, peonies are associated with longevity, good health and wisdom ...
Magnificent regal peonies will delight you and your space.
