A beautiful black woman appeared as I was creating this abstract painting.
I added the detail of a beaded necklace. Necklaces are prized jewelry and this was embellished with silver foil that reflects the light.
I remember a poem that reflects what I feel about this work.
" I am a black woman
tall as a cypress
strong. I am a sister, mother, and child.
I am proud."
