I painted this shortly after serving as the lead juror of a first degree murder case. It was a chilling experience as the convicted defendent looked unaffected during the whole grizly proceeding. The under painting is aluminum enamel which creates more visual tension with its dazzling light which frustrates the veiwer trying to enter the head of the figure perhaps.
