BLACK GROUSE ON THE LEK / MAN-TO-MAN TALK (2026)Oil painting

Original artwork description

In this oil painting, I aimed to capture a powerful moment of connection and competition between two black grouses on the dawn lek. Using a blend of figurative realism and impressionistic light, I aimed to evoke the raw energy of nature's quiet drama.
For those passionate about birdwatching in the wild, the spring mating season of black grouse is a special "trophy."
In recent years, birds have allowed people to come quite close, when you can hear not only cooing, but also the dry rustle of feathers when they beat their wings on the frost-bitten grass.
And though in reality this sense of belonging to the forest's mystery is only available to those willing to trade the comfort of a warm bed for the piercing chill of a spring dawn, you can imagine this vibrant scene on your wall, filling your space with the spirit of wild harmony and the soft glow of early morning.
