"Birch friends" I painted this painting at our river the Berkel in Lochem on an icy, snowy morning. It was completely silent, because everyone found the cold too much. Only me and a few birds braved the freezing cold. This serene peace and the beautiful wintery surroundings were the perfect source of inspiration for this work. Capturing this moment full of loneliness and beauty was a unique experience that I would like to share with you.
