Original artwork description
This figurative sculpture has been created from one whole 12" vinyl music record (Billy Connolly, "Transatlantic - Solo Concert"), and mounted upon a 14 x 9 x 2.5cm custom black and florescent red perspex and acrylic block. The liquid-like form has been created using various heat sources. The modern materials maintain a fine art aesthetic.
Each figurative, contemporary sculpture from the "REmuse" series is sculpted from one whole 7" or 12" vinyl record, with nothing added and nothing removed from the original material - function becomes form.
