On a stormy day I set off for a walk with my partner up above Haweswater in the Lake District. After half an hour of walking into horizontal rain we decided to turn around, sometimes it's not so much about the achievement, as the trying. In this painting I wanted to capture the wonderful autumn colours that I knew would appear if and when the sun came out.
