Original artwork description
When my family and I moved to London from the borders of Scotland we craved the peace of the countryside. We would often drive to the Roehampton Gate and walk to Beverley Brook depicted here. It was not the brown waters of our Scottish trout stream but was a wild a ‘burn’ as we had seen since moving south to Chelsea. I wanted to layer the patterns made by the grass against each other like embroidery over patchwork.
