Original artwork description
An abstracted, expressive painting depicting a view through the shallow water at the edge of the shoreline, looking down to the pebbles and seaweed below.
Painted using gesso and Artist Quality watercolours, the textures were created by painting through scraps of lace and net fabrics which were then removed once the paint had dried. Some areas of the painting were lightly sanded back to reveal the white gesso beneath the watercolour layers to give the effect of sea foam and bubbles.
