This is the second in my new series called "Beachcomber".
I grew up on the South coast of England and used to windsurf and sail with my Father. When I wasn't on the water I would always be beachcombing for shells, pebbles and driftwood which I've always collected.
So this new series of work is inspired by those times by the sea
I've moved closer to making each element more three dimensional by moulding each one using watercolour paper.
Each shell is hand moulded and coloured with watercolour, then mounted on a tiny foam-board plinth to form the whole piece.
If you are interested in commissioning a piece I can make the shells in any colour combination and the size to your liking so please message me if you would like to discuss :)
Watercolours and metallic watercolours, moulded watercolour paper, in a deep box frame glazed with Perspex
