The motif for this painting was inspired by a real place in a small town on the outskirts of Munich. At the heart of the town stand a magnificent autumn tree and a traditional carved wooden sculpture of Christ, a characteristic feature of the Bavarian landscape. Together, they form the visual and spiritual center of this peaceful place. I transformed this scene into a highly decorative landscape, emphasizing its rich colors, expressive forms, and warm atmosphere.

The glossy varnished surface enhances the depth and luminosity of the painting. The impasto texture of the paint layer adds a tactile quality and emphasizes the expressive character of the brushwork. The canvas is hand-stretched over a wooden stretcher, and the sides are painted black, allowing the artwork to be displayed without the need for a frame.

This painting evokes the warmth and coziness of autumn while conveying the distinctive character of Bavaria. Its decorative style is reminiscent of traditional folk art, celebrating the beauty of everyday landscapes through vivid color and ornament-like forms.
