Barnes Pond (2025)Oil painting by Emma Pilkington

42.6 x 32.5 x 3.5cm (framed) / 40.6 x 30.5cm (actual image size)

£300

This was made on a beautiful day when the Richmond Arts Society plein aire and Barnes plein aire groups joined forces for the Barnes Festival. I had a shady spot under a tree to examine the textures and values of the pond and its surrounding trees and houses. Barnes is special now that Hammersmith Bridge is not open for traffic, because it has become like a small village lost in time, no longer on the way to anywhere else.
