Original artwork description
A view of a Metropolitan line train leaving platform 3 at Baker Street station. The distinctive Tube colours, roundel and 'mind the gap' warning are framed by the juxtaposed lines of the overbridge and platform tiles, creating a dramatic, dynamic scene.
Rebecca has created an extensive collection of Undergound-themed works: always revealing the beauty and style of these often-overlooked subterranean spaces by careful selection of perspectives - and by removing almost all of the people.
The lights in the distance show another train pulling into the District and Circle platforms, hinting at some of the hidden, complex interconnections of the Tube network.
