Original artwork description
This painting depicts a baby turtle's epic first journey to the ocean. The moments between hatching and entering the ocean are treacherous for baby turtles! They encounter obstacles such as driftwood and face dangers of predators including crabs, birds, and raccoons. They also have challenges to head in the right direction- they can be misled by man-made lights on the beach.
This one has made it past the obstacles. The turtle pushes the wet sand to move closer to the approaching bubbly tide.
This painting may be interpreted as overcoming challenges and reaching your goals or dreams.
"Baby Turtle Journey to the Sea" was painted using professional quality oil paint on canvas. The piece was sealed with a gloss varnish to protect the paint from future dust and dirt accumulation. The sides of this 0.5" thick canvas are painted a neutral beige shade that compliments the piece. The back of the painting is prepared with a wire rack for hanging. Although a frame is not required for this piece, the artist's recommendation is for the buyer to frame the painting to their taste before displaying it.
