Azure Tidal Layers is an original contemporary abstract seascape painting created with acrylic on canvas.

While working on this piece, I was inspired by the shifting interaction between water, sky and distant land. Instead of depicting a literal landscape, I focused on translating the feeling of open space and moving light through layered textures and expressive color fields.

Soft blues and muted turquoise tones emerge through atmospheric greys, warm beige and touches of natural ochre. Darker passages of charcoal and deep brown anchor the composition, while lighter areas of ivory and pale blue create the sense of light moving across water.

The surface was developed through multiple layers of acrylic paint applied with palette knife and textured brush techniques. Some areas reveal thick expressive strokes, while others remain smooth and translucent, allowing subtle color transitions to appear through the layers.

From a distance the painting feels expansive and atmospheric. Up close, the textured acrylic surface reveals intricate details and the physical energy of the painting process.

This large contemporary abstract seascape painting is designed to work beautifully in modern interiors. Its calm palette of blue, grey, beige and ochre tones complements minimalist architecture, contemporary living spaces and interior design projects.
