Original artwork description
Axis of Reflection is an original contemporary abstract painting that explores balance, structure, and the subtle dialogue between architecture and atmosphere. Created in 2026, this large-scale acrylic artwork transforms geometric forms, reflections, and layered textures into a sophisticated visual statement designed for modern interiors.
While creating this painting, I was inspired by the way cities, water, and light interact. Reflections dissolve rigid structures, boundaries soften, and order gradually transforms into emotion. Rather than depicting a specific place, I wanted to capture the quiet moment where architecture meets atmosphere and where structure gives way to contemplation.
The composition was built through multiple layers of acrylic paint using palette knives, brushes, scraping techniques, and expressive mark-making. The textured surface creates depth and movement while preserving a sense of clarity and balance. Geometric forms intersect with softer passages, creating a visual rhythm that continuously shifts depending on the viewing distance.
A refined palette of soft gray, mist blue, ivory white, charcoal black, warm brown, deep taupe, and subtle ochre accents creates a contemporary and timeless aesthetic. The contrast between cool and warm tones evokes reflections on water, urban skylines, architectural silhouettes, and expansive horizons.
Although entirely abstract, Axis of Reflection often recalls modern cityscapes, waterfront architecture, minimalist landscapes, and structural compositions. Existing between abstraction and architecture, the painting invites personal interpretation while maintaining a strong sense of harmony and sophistication.
Its panoramic format and elegant neutral palette make this artwork particularly suitable for contemporary homes, luxury apartments, executive offices, boutique hotels, reception areas, and designer interiors. The combination of gray, blue, white, black, brown, taupe, and ochre integrates beautifully into modern, minimalist, industrial, Scandinavian, and contemporary interior styles.
For me, Axis of Reflection is about the balance between order and emotion. It explores how reflections can transform solid structures into something fluid, atmospheric, and deeply human.
