One minute the Spring sunlight was streaming so brightly, next a threatening bank of heavy cloud filled the sky...it’s these dramatic contrasts in Nature that capture my heart with such awe inspiring energy as I stand there in the field, feeling the sharp freshness of Springtime.

Responding to my visual memories to create this original painting, there's a feeling of the wide open space, the ephemeral beauty of the sky above and the fresh cool wind of a Spring day. It is developed with expressive palette knife strokes, with layers and texture to create depth and vibrancy. I have crafted this piece with an ethos of 'letting go' of perfection, and through this creative freedom I hope this painting will bring you the enrichment, peace and positivity I seek to convey.

Painted in my Cambridge studio, this original artwork is created with Winsor & Newton professional oil paints on high quality stretched canvas, with softwood stretchers. Canvas size is 24 x 30 cm x 4.5 cm depth. The image is extended on the sides of the canvas creating a 3-D effect. The canvas is signed on both the front and the back, and there are 2 D-rings attached to each side of the softwood stretchers strung with strong cord so that this artwork is READY TO HANG to sit flush against the wall, with no need for further framing, offering a contemporary finish to the piece.
