I live near the Basingstoke Canal, which was cut in the c18 with the intention of linking London to Southampton. It didn't get very far before the railways appeared and rendered it obsolete
Today it is only used for leisure, and is a haven for wildlife, including invariably breeding pairs of swans. These two were around in the autumn, surrounded by fallen leaves
They seemed to match the autumn colours, so I painted them
This painting is offered in an ivory coloured mount ready for you to frame to your choice
Cold pressed watercolour paper
