I constantly return to these banks of the young Loire; it is one of my favorite subjects. On this autumn afternoon, the cold, bluish shadow of the hillside in the background made the gold and soft green of the riverside foliage burst forth brilliantly. I was struck by the contrast with those tall, already bare trees, raising their delicate mauve and silvery silhouettes beneath the low sun. At my feet, the peaceful river offered a shimmering mirror, catching the light to reflect this symphony of fleeting colors. A suspended moment that I felt compelled, once again, to capture.

The white finish on the sides of the canvas allows it to be hung without a frame, should you wish.

Materials used:

This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
