I painted "Autumn on Rhein" as a celebration of color at its fullest expression. Standing above the river, I was struck by the contrast between the cool blue water and the burning gold of the fields and trees. The leaves seemed to shimmer in the wind, and I used thick, energetic brushstrokes to capture that movement and the richness of the season.

For me, this piece is about standing in that in-between moment—when the air is crisp, the land is glowing, and everything feels both abundant and fleeting. I wanted the viewer to feel the sweep of the landscape, the quiet strength of the lone tree, and the gentle curve of the Rhine carrying the season forward.
