On this painting we see the Giethoorn in the fall. Giethoorn is a picturesque Dutch village, however like many Dutch villages. But the numerous bridges give the village a special charm. The bridges are rather curved: this was done on purpose so that it would be convenient to swim under them. The painting is made with Winsor&Newton oil colors and a palette knife.
Yellow paints radiate warmth. The water in the river is dark with an unusual greenish tint in the foreground. It shines and glitters in places. A good contrast of dark and cold tones.

Materials used:

Winsor&Newton oil colors and a palette knife
