autumn (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by lucia dibi
50 x 75 x 2cm (unframed)
£605.79
Original artwork description
This artwork explores the concept of the "threshold" and the silent mystery of architectural spaces. My work emerges from a process of exploring the everyday: I collect urban fragments through notes, sketches, photographs, and digital decompositions that gradually transform into painting. In this piece, a series of nested arches in contrasting tones—antique pink, ochre, and deep purple—lead the viewer’s eye toward a central black void, inviting a moment of contemplation on what lies beyond.
Materials & Texture
To bridge the gap between the painted image and physical reality, I use acrylics mixed with natural materials such as sand and earth. This gives the surface a rich, tactile, and grainy quality that echoes the textures of urban walls and weathered architecture. The interaction of these materials creates a sophisticated "materiality" that changes depending on the light.
