Aurelium of Gogengame (2025) Original Acrylic Painting by Kseniia Turik
97 x 147 x 3cm (unframed)
£3,902.17
Original artwork description
Aurelium of Gogengame is a splash caught at the exact moment of release — a white explosion blooming from the centre of the canvas, scattering outward into pearl, green, and every natural shade of water. The title draws from Aurelius, the hidden name of Paracelsus, the Renaissance alchemist who believed that within every substance sleeps an invisible energy waiting to be released. For me, this painting is about that energy — the instant when something ends and something else is born in the same breath.
I built the surface in layers of acrylic, waiting for each layer to settle before pouring epoxy resin across the whole canvas to catch and hold the movement. The small bubbles trapped in the resin are not mistakes — they are the breath of the painting, the moment it decided to stay alive. The surface changes throughout the day: cool pearl at noon, soft green at dusk, almost silver when lit from the side. You do not look at this painting — you look into it.
This work belongs to a body of pieces about water and the instant before stillness: the pause inside a splash, the quiet a large room needs in order to become a home. It is not a decorative painting. It is a painting about transformation.
Format: 147 × 97 cm, vertical. Acrylic on canvas, sealed in epoxy resin. Signed on the back, stretched on a solid wooden frame, ready to hang. Sides of the canvas are finished in deep tone — no frame required.
Exhibited at Art Capital · Grand Palais, Paris 2025.
Aurelium belongs in spaces that deserve presence — a living room with high ceilings, a long console in an entrance hall, a reading room, a bedroom that needs to breathe. It pairs especially well with natural materials: raw wood, pale stone, linen, and warm light. Equally strong in contemporary minimalist interiors and classical settings.
