Original artwork description
The collage is done by combination of images, removed them from their original narrative context and reconfigured to create a new scenario. The idea is to dust the traditional portrait by mixing art, photo, colours and shapes, together with the subject’s personal stories.
The iconic Audrey Hepburn is here surrounded by major elements of the film Breakfast at Tiffany's : New York and diamonds creating a personal and magical decor.
The yellow and violet background has been made with fluorescent spray painting giving a modern and urban touch. The images used in the collage come from magazines, internet, book and photographies.
The collage is made on a wood panel that has been prepared with gesso before been painted.
A final varnish protects the collage.
