This original oil painting draws light from restrained grounds, allowing luminosity to emerge from deep, saturated tones. Built with expressive palette knife marks and layered oil paint, it captures the intensity of a crimson sunset sky.

A luminous white solar disc hovers at the centre of a vast red and rose sky, its light tracing a vertical reflection through pale water below. Warm reds and corals dissolve into soft white and lavender, while scattered gold flecks bind sky and water in shared warmth.

Rather than depicting a specific location, the painting explores landscape as a space shaped by light, weather, and time. Rich textures reveal new details with sustained observation.
