- Asphalt Altona II
Original artwork description
Here I'm telling a story about modern everyday life: a railway bridge, a view through a tunnel, lots of graffiti, a few cars, and three cyclists. The weather is bad. The question I asked myself while painting was about the design of the city: Who designs the city? Are the people who live in the neighborhood also represented? Which stakeholders are there? What colors surround us daily? The result is a clear statement in favor of spray-painted art in everyday life. This image opens the viewer's eyes to undiscovered visual adventures in their immediate surroundings in the metropolis. Specifically, this is the Altona district of Hamburg.
In this image, I captured the vibrant rhythm of the city – the pulsating interplay of people, traffic, graffiti, and architecture. It brings energy and dynamism to every space and serves as a reminder of how exciting urban life can be, even in moments of apparent routine.
