‘Ascent’ (2025) is drawn from a quiet moment of walking uphill towards a sunlit building. The sharp edges of the architecture contrast with the soft movement of plants and sky, and I was drawn to how the scene felt both familiar and slightly dreamlike. The layering of colour and line reflects that tension — between structure and atmosphere, clarity and memory. For me, this work is about how an ordinary place can shift into something more evocative when seen in a certain light or from a certain angle.
