Original artwork description
A great inspiration for me comes with the aspen and birch barks I saw in my strollings along the Rocky Mountains years ago. And combined with my love for Japanese ink techniques as sumi-e, I try to capture the beauty of the natural world, creating this kind of minimal illustrations.
Whenever I can I work plein air hidden away in my garden, inspired by the nature around me.
The lynx symbolises independence, discretion, beauty, and protection. Lynxes are native to Europe, Asia, and the northern part of North America, so they are important figures in the mythologies and folklore of many cultures in these regions.
