An ancient castle belonging to a powerful family, the Norfolks, who championed the Catholic cause during the Reformation. Sometimes in power, sometimes in the Tower depending which monarch was on the throne. At the Battle of Bosworth, they were on the losing side, and lost their title which they regained under Henry VIII, defeating the Scots at the Battle of Flodden
Still today they are regarded as the leading Catholic family in the land
Their castle stands overlooking the River Arun, and is a major attraction
