This oil painting portrays a lively street scene of an art fair on a sunny day in Whiting, Indiana. The artists’ tents are depicted in vivid red, blue and yellow primary colors beneath the blue of a summer sky. The painting was inspired by my experience as an artist at the annual art fair “For the Love of Art,” where I painted it en plein air. I combined both representational and abstract elements in creating this art. The objects and shapes are readily recognizable, but are portrayed in a stylized manner with outlines in strong dark lines. “Art Fair On Oliver Street” was recently displayed at CornerStone Gallery in Indiana, U.S. Viewing this vivid, colorful street scene creates a cheerful mood.
