Original artwork description
A cat snoozes on a tower of books alongside a globe. I'm inspired by painting the playful nature and characteristics of cats. I also enjoy incorporating my love of interiors into my compositions.
All my work is digitally put together using reference photographs in Photoshop. I spend a long time building these images up until they are ready to be committed to canvas. I then draw them out on canvas and paint them relatively quickly, over a few days.
I sold my first cat painting in 2010 at a National Lottery funded exhibition in Richmond, Yorkshire. Since then I have continued to paint cats and have sold regularly, privately or through local/independent galleries.
My collection is growing and this is my biggest collection of cat paintings exhibited together to date! I intend to paint these cat paintings for a long time and hope that collectors will follow them, as I will offer a large choice for collectors in the future.
In April 2015 I won the BBC Little Painting Challenge, in my category, with an oil painting of my 6month old son, Nathaniel. Since then I have also continued to paint baby portraits as commissions. Please fell free to ask or contact me if you are interested in having a commission.
